Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the United States as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She currently works as an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She started working for ESPN in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami, where she was a producer of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In 2009, the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg hired her after this as the sports reporter. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was a substitute for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. She reported on all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Apart from that she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She also served as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. In the same capacity as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are from Veracruz Mexico. The family were moved into Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. Also, she has an older sibling. In 1992 her family left Mexico and moved to Miami. Her parents divorced within a short time and in the year 1995, she got married to an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Still a senior in high school but having a clear vision of about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta was able to visit her local University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. She loved the campus. They also offered her the degree she wanted. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to go to the university and major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she is a member. They formed a strong relationship. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence inspired her. In turn, she, tried to meet his expectations and never let him down.
